Added the ability to email the writer of a news article or the contact of a calendar item. That person must have included their email for this feature to work. It uses our standard email form, just in a new way. The person who sends the email will not gain access to your email (unless you respond) and your email remains private and is not published on the site.

Update history with some information through 2006. Corrected a bug in the image gallery which caused problems if pictures were added to the same gallery on different days. Image galleries should be much more consistent now. Thanks to Martin Church and Joe Retzbach for pointing out several inconsistencies in the galleries. Also added a minor tweak to the appearance of the front page.

There have been many updates to the site in the last few days, although not all of them have been obvious. We changed the colors on the side navigation. We updated the rules and procedures. Added a revised copy of the 2006 LLD Form. The version I loaded earlier incorrectly showed the date of the event as November 16. The new version shows the corrected date of November 18. It is a fill-in form, you can type your information on the screen and print it even if you don't own Acrobat.

With the NOAC judging over, the moratorium on new features is lifted (yeah!). The Events pages now feature a link to the photo galleries for that event. We made a change to the feature stories to show the captions for each photo beneath the photo. We also changed the feature to allow a shorter version on the front page and details on the individual page. We also made some change (probably transparent) to the way we build and update our RSS feeds. We also added the LLD survey for the Training Committee. We updated the merit badge listing for Cole and D-A to make it clear that some of the items a scout can sign up for are actually programs, like Scout Lifeguard or First Class Emphasis, and not merit badges. We also modified the news archive to show only 25 old news stories at a time, previously, it showed ALL old news and was becoming too big a page to display conveniently.

We've launched a new way to browse pictures in our Photo Gallery. Not only does this allow you to preview some upcoming pictures, but a number of events and individual pictures have been added. As might be expected when updating nearly 50 galleries and more than 3000 pictures, there may be some errors - if you find any please report them.

We're still working but so far today we've added a privacy policy (including some techy stuff to tie it into your browser), updated our copyright statment, changed the way email to lodge officers works (so you can't see the address anymore), added a Contact Lodge Adviser choice to the menus, and done some general tidying of things. We have added a new tool to allow you to sign up for an event you plan to attend. This does not replace a registration form, but it does give us a chance to get a count of how many people will attend. Right now, it is only set up for the One Day of Service April 29 and The Storybook Ball, a Mahican Chapter service project. Look for improvements and refinements soon.

Two new features so far today. If your favorite browser supports Live Bookmarks, you can now easily create a live bookmark for Migisi. In Firefox, you’ll see the syndication icon (a little orang button) on the right side of the address bar. Click it and you can subscribe to the news or calendar here at Migisi. This will give you a drop down list of upcoming events and recent stories right on your toolbar. Based on a suggestion from the Vigil Committee, we also added the ability to associate events to a particular committee to allow the creation of Committee Calendars. So far, the Vigil, Training, Brotherhood, and Elangomat committees have events on their calendars.

In the last few days, we’ve done the following: Modified the committees page to reflect the current structure of Lodge committees including combining Unit Elections, Unit Services, and Troop Representative pages under the Unit Services committee.
